STEAM Education is an approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking.Use of STEAM education resultsin students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process
New Millennium School has a STEAM laboratory equipped with necessary tools and workspace to integrate their learning into something that is substantial, moving and working output. Students use the STEAM lab to do their project works as well.
STEAM education at the New Millennium is supported by the Tufts University School of Engineering and Outreach Program. Under this, student blend literature into engineering, create varieties of things that actually help solve problem of their clients from the stories and novels (by learning to solve problems on their own).
Our STEAM program is supported by a group of engineers and designers who visit the school, provide professional inputs and encourage creativity. The output of the engineering works from different subject areas are exhibited every year in the school and students have opportunity to communicate about their discovery, work, designs and problem-solving strategies.
NMS STEAM program is an integral part of the academics in which inter-disciplinary knowledge is integrated. Students learn Collaboration, Creativity, Critical Thinking and Communication. It is really not about what, where and when but it is about why and how, it is a process of application that allows our students create meaning for themselves and others.
NMS STEAM is rather a frame of mind that uses the Arts as a lever to explosive growth, social-emotional connections, and the foundation for the innovators of tomorrow…today!
