Grade III students have recently finished an independent reading Pawankali by Pranita Chhetri. The students met the real-life character Pawankali, a 71 years old elephant.
"This is a heartwarming story of Pawankali, an elephant, who was captured at a young age. Growing up in the zoo, she longs for her family and her life in the wilderness and it is about the friendship between Rama, the zoo keeper, and his daughter Kumari.
